Long Awaited Arrival

Just a quick post in order to show off our newest addition to the family. Richard and I could not be prouder parents. Helen is more precious than the pictures show, and we can't wait for all of our family and friends to meet her. Thank you all for the kind words and offers of help. We are trying to call everyone, but moments of time that aren't committed to Helen are limited and we know you understand. We are now at home and welcome any of you who want to visit, please just call first to make sure we are all awake. :) Enjoy the pictures, and we will do our best to post often and keep everyone updated!

Maternity Photo

Well, I've put this off for ages, and knew that if it was going to be done, it would have to be soon seeing as how I'm now over 38 weeks into this 40 week pregnancy. And guilt from several different sources as well as a really blank page in the baby book staring back at me have finally won out. For those of you who aren't interested, sorry! I put the one where the belly isn't bared first, but you'll have to avert your eyes for the second one!

Catching Up

So we have obviously been incredibly lax about updating the blog, but that is simply because not much has been going on. We did finally decide on a middle name...Helen Abigail. It's been monogrammed on things, so no going back now. :) Actually, it's the first name we came up with and the one that we kept going back to time and time again, so we decided it just made sense and why fight the obvious. But, if Richard gets to fill out the birth certificate, she'll end up being Helen Ferno, so I still have to be careful.

We are going to weekly doctor appointments now, and only have 2 weeks to go until my due date. I have made some progress and am dilating a little bit, but that really doesn't mean that Helen will arrive anytime soon. We are just taking it easy and day by day. Thanks to everyone for all of the kind words and for checking up on us. We will be sending out an email to everyone we can as soon as things start to progress and will let you all know when she arrives. Richard has a huge list of people to call and we'll do that as soon as we can.

So, until she arrives, I think this blog will remain quiet. But I'm sure I'll be the proud posting mama once she arrives!
