Helen's Smile

Since the smiles just started to get bigger, I wanted to share them with you all. I apologize for the poor picture quality, but I was taking video at the same time and couldn't use a flash. Not only is she cute, but doesn't she look cool in her little hoodie?

Technically

Technically I have been doing updating on Helen, just not in words. I have been posting updated pictures of her on the Flickr page ever so often, I just haven't had anything interesting to write on this particular blog. That's not to say that nothing interesting is happening around here. Helen is really starting to smile now, and she really loves her bath time. We are starting to get more sleep every night (which is wonderful) and we are really starting to get this parenting thing under control.

Unfortunately I was sick all last week, and in spite of my best efforts to keep Helen from catching my cold, I was not successful. So she's had a pretty good case of the sniffles for a couple of days now, but she really is being quite good about the whole thing. She loves her nasal aspirator. Who would have thought???

I discovered that she loves the sound of the sewing machine. It seems to put her right to sleep. So although I may not be able to get her to nap long enough to clean the floors very well, I can get some crafting done. It's therapeutic, so I won't complain to much. :)

I'm trying to be better about calling my friends now more, but it does seem that the second I pick up the phone, she starts to cry. So forgive me if I've been a bit distant, but I know you all understand. There are still a few of you out there who haven't yet met our precious new addition, and I know that is my fault. We would love to have anyone who wants to come by do so, just give us a call and we'll try to at least be showered for your arrival. Thank you all for your patience, and remember that as always I'm much better at email than I am at phoning, so don't be afraid to drop me a line as well.
